I did it!

I know I didn't get on here through out the week but I accomplished my goal!!
I sewed up 3 minnie mouse dresses for my 3 princesses, 1 hot air balloon dress for my sweet niece who turned 7, & 1 super hero A-line shirt for my little middle. I know I had a few more items on my list but I will get to those today, hopefully! I almost completed the soda pop shop dress for my oldest. I have to attach the skirt to the bodice, and add the finishing touches. It is super cute so far!! H will LOVE it! (she did pick the fabric, which is a plus) I hope to get that dress on here at some point as well. I think it may be in my top 5...

Here are a few shots of the minnie mouse dresses!

The bow pictured with this adorable top is made by a friend of mine. She made me 10 hair bows special ordered. Minnie Mouse, Princess, Super Hero! They turned out great!!

Jazzy posing in her cute top! She LOVED it. She loves anything superhero. I have made her a dress with this same fabric, and she adores it. Maybe I'll post about those sometime. (one for each girl in the favorite characters)

Now I get to make some embroidered shirts for our up coming trip to
Walt Disney World!!
We are so excited!! Well, Henry and I are. The girls have no idea we are going. It will be such a magical time for them. I will be sure to take lots of pics. :)
Now onto to sewing up some fun outfits for them...

I think I'm attempting...KCW!!

SO....I know that I am a slacker with this whole blog thing. I need more practice! I follow Kids Clothes Week Blog and I love to gawk at all the CUTE things people make for kids! My 3 girls get to wear my crazy sewing projects, and they usually like them. I have decided to attempt making a list of things to make for next week. I have 2 projects completed before it officially starts!! I am pretty proud of myself. I cut out 9 projects, (i know, that sounds crazy), still need to cut 1, and I have completed 2. Continuing another, hopefully today.

Minnie Mouse Dress (x3)
Hot Air Balloon Sally Dress (x2)
Super Hero Shirt
Princess Cape
Soda Pop Shop Dress
Tiny Geranium & Diaper Cover

I actually was able to finish up a pair of jammies for one of my girls, some cute heart leggings, and add size tags to 2 t-shirts. Now I won't get them confused. I have needed to add the elastic and finish them up for quite some time, so I am VERY happy I just did it. Here are a few pics of what I've been working on.

Geranium Dress @Made-By-Rae

I have to say that this is the most AWESOME pattern I have. I use it for SOOOO many things. I have made countless dresses, tunics, and basic garments with this pattern. I love it. I also just saw that made-by-rae posted about theses dresses the other day on her site. There are SO many beautiful dresses out there!!

This is one that my oldest loves. She picked the fabric out, and so of course she doesn't fuss about wearing it. But if I would pick out the fabric, it would be like pulling teeth to get her to wear it.
This was for my youngest...she adores Dora! And as long as this is clean when she is picking out clothes, she will pick this dress!!

Here is our Little Middle, she loves anything! She is not picky and will wear just about anything we choose for her. She does have a few favorites...this one, and a Strawberry Shortcake Geranium.

I think this is a fun gift for baby girls as well. I made one for a friend of ours that was having a baby girl.

I love the vintage buttons I found in my moms button collection! This fabric is from Stampin'UP Springtime Vintage fat quarters, I believe. The Ruffle sleeves are a favorite of mine as well.
You can purchase the pattern HERE

I am currently working on my daughters Brave birthday party. She is turning 5 in a few weeks and I am   planning and crafting for her party. First on the list was a Merida dress. I am so excited about this. I can't wait to post on it! See ya soon.

Some Kids Clothes

I started sewing just a few years ago. Actually 2 years ago this coming January. My girlfriend had a machine that she tried to use a few times and didn't really like it. She was selling it, and I bought it! I LOVED to sew. I was so afraid of the sewing machine, I had to talk myself into it. And a little push from my husband, I was a crazy sewing fool! I started off with some pillows, and little bags and pouches. That was fun. I showed some of them on the first post. Then I tried my hand at some kids clothes. That is what i LOVE most!!

This is the Sweetheart Dress by luvinthemommyhood. I made this when it was the tutorial. I may just have to buy the pattern now since it is not in the right sizes!! I love it!

I attempted a peasant dress for my then, 1 yr old. I found the pattern for free at Fabric.com.

This was a dress I made for one of the older girls, I traced a t-shirt of theirs and just made up the pattern as I went along. It is one of my oldest's favorite dress. (not mine) ha!

Here is another version of the peasant dress, I used some cute Halloween fabric I found at Hancock's Fabric. They didn't like these dresses, and barely wore them for a few hours. :(
I thought they were cute,  and I am going to see if they will wear them this Halloween!

I made two of these for my older girls, one in maroon the other in olive green. They wore them for Thanksgiving. I made the Junebug dress for my little one (I don't have a pic, not sure why?!)

So there you have a few pics of some of the clothes I made. I have plenty more to share. I think I'll do a post of the Geranium Dresses from Made By Rae. I LOVE that pattern. It is very versatile. I have made quite a few dresses and tunics from it. It is probably my most used pattern!
See ya soon.

Some of my first sewing projects!

Welcome to my first ever blog post! I don't really know what i'm doing but I'll figure it out as we go along. I wanted to have a place to share my creative projects with everyone. I am going to just share a few pics of things that I have done in the past. I didn't really take a lot of pictures as I was doing things, but I am going to try from now on. That way I can share with everyone how I completed my project! Here are a few completed projects.
Market Tote. I made this bag with burlap on the bottom half and an awesome print I found at BigLots in a 2 yard pack of fabric. I made a flower to add some character on it as well. The pattern is from the book 1, 2, 3, Sew.

Here is a diaper & wipe clutch. I didn't have a patter for this. I set a diaper and the wipe container out and traced around it leave enough room for seams. It was a quick and easy project and have been using it everyday since I made it. I needed something to carry for short trips. It also helps to locate a diaper in a large bag. Worked great while traveling.

A few little makeup bags, I don't remember where the pattern came from. Sorry

A few bibs & burp cloth.

Fun keychain accessories

iPad holders. I made these just by measuring my iPad. I didn't have a pattern to follow.

Mini Messenger Bag. I found this pattern @ CrazyLittle Projects
http://crazylittleprojects.com/2012/03/reversible-messenger-bag.html
I love how they turned out!! This was one of my first sewing projects.

I will be trying to post about the fun things I get to do. Time providing. I try to get as much done as possible during nap time. But my 4yr old, almost 5yr old doesn't like to nap much anymore!
I'll be showing some of the clothing that I have made on my next post.
See you soon.
